Emergency Contact Privacy Information

If you have been named as a LymphAware ID emergency contact.

This notice explains how and why LymphAware ID may process your contact details when a member has nominated you.

Version 1.1 – 15 September 2026.

Who is responsible for your information?

LymphAware ID determines why and how emergency-contact information is processed for the LymphAware ID service and acts as the data controller for this processing.

For privacy questions or requests, contact admin@lymphawareid.com.

The member who nominated you is asked to show or send you this notice before your details are saved and to confirm that you know and agree that your contact details are being added.

Where did we get your details?

We obtained your details from the LymphAware ID member who nominated you, not directly from you.

The information is limited to the contact information the member enters, normally your name, relationship to them and telephone number. LymphAware ID does not need you to provide medical information about yourself in order to be an emergency contact.

Why we use your details

The purpose is to allow someone assisting the LymphAware ID member to know who the member has nominated as an emergency contact and, where appropriate, to contact that person.

Our Article 6 UK GDPR lawful basis is legitimate interests: the member’s interest in nominating a contact and LymphAware ID’s interest in providing that requested communication feature. We limit the information to what is necessary and give you the ability to object or ask for removal.

Who may see the details?

While the member’s QR profile is switched on, your name, relationship and telephone number may be visible to anyone who accesses that profile through its QR link.

If the current emergency-contact privacy confirmation has not been recorded, LymphAware ID’s public profile service does not include those contact details in the QR response.

Service providers and international processing

Your contact details are stored as part of the member’s profile using LymphAware ID’s backend service provider, Supabase. The public QR profile is delivered through LymphAware ID’s hosted service.

LymphAware ID uses external providers to operate the service. Some providers or their subprocessors may process personal information outside the UK. Where required, LymphAware ID reviews and relies on recognised transfer safeguards described in the main Privacy Notice.

Not sent for automated translation

Your emergency-contact name and telephone number are not sent to the automated translation service. Where a translated profile is used, only the relationship wording may be translated.

How long we keep your details

Your details are kept only while they remain part of the member’s profile and are needed for the emergency-contact feature. The member can remove or replace them.

If the member withdraws health-profile consent through LymphAware ID, the stored emergency-contact details associated with that profile are removed as part of that process. If the member deletes their account, the profile information is also removed subject to normal protected backup rotation and any lawful retention requirements.

You can ask for removal

You can ask the member to remove or change your details. You can also contact admin@lymphawareid.com directly and we will deal with your request in accordance with applicable data-protection rights.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights including access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection.

Access

You can ask whether LymphAware ID holds your personal information and request a copy where the right applies.

Correction

You can ask for inaccurate contact information to be corrected.

Erasure

You can ask for your details to be removed where the legal conditions for erasure apply.

Object

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will consider your circumstances and any compelling legitimate grounds.

Contact admin@lymphawareid.com to exercise a right. We normally respond without undue delay and within one calendar month, subject to any lawful extension.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how LymphAware ID has used your information, contact admin@lymphawareid.com so we can investigate.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Current complaint information is available at ico.org.uk.
